VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Help Us Recycle at Medford Oktoberfest!

Where: Freedom Park

Last year, our Oktoberfest recycling volunteers helped collect more than 250 pounds of plastic cups that otherwise could have ended up in the trash. This year, the Medford Green Team hopes to double that amount — and we need your help!

Keeping recyclable material out of the trash doesn’t just benefit the environment. Diverting waste from the landfill also helps reduce the amount of waste our town has to pay to dispose of and SAVES US MONEY!

We’re grateful to the Medford Business Association for partnering with us again and providing participating beer vendors with #5 recyclable plastic cups. This gives us a unique opportunity at such a large community event to capture a significant amount of recyclable material.

Why do we need volunteers?
Recycling only works when we keep it clean. Trash or other non-recyclable items mixed into a bag of plastic cups can contaminate the recycling and potentially cause the entire bag to be rejected.That’s where our volunteers make a huge difference!

Volunteers will help at our recycling stations by:

* Guiding attendees to place their empty #5 cups in the correct bins
* Keeping trash and other contaminants out of the recycling
* Helping educate attendees about proper recycling

No experience is necessary, and you don’t have to volunteer for the entire event. Sign up for a shift, help us make an impact, and enjoy Oktoberfest while you’re there!
